Forbes Marshall - Trusted Partners in Steam Engineering & Control Instrumentation

Burner (Oil and Gas)

At the heart of an efficient boiler is an efficient burner. Forbes Marshall offers monobloc, ECR (Electronic Compound Regulation) burner which comes with efficiency monitoring and control system of its own.

Forbes Marshall burners can be smartly control to ensure that the boiler is combusting the fuel efficiently at any .lad and at any time. The ECR burner system is equipped with a user-friendly touch screen display which enhances the usability of the system. The system also provides Modbus output, which enables all boiler data to be displayed and logged onto the connected computer using proprietary software.

  • Air/ Fuel ratio control and setting – The ECR burner control system has separate servo motors for air/ oil modulation and an electro-pneumatic system for gas modulation.
  • Precise oil temperature control – The PLC based controller with accurate temperature helps achieve this, thereby ensuring more precise and uniform oil temperature.
  • Smooth start up for gas firing
  • Valve proving system
  • Safety solenoid valve
  • Pressure switches – High pressure switches for oil supply and return line ensure that oil pressure never exceeds the set value.
  • Easy Maintenance & Hinge Design.
  • Forbes Marshall boilers and burners are designed to function seamlessly with each other and result in a higher turndown and digital control of A:F ratio to achieve consistent stack oxygen over the operating range.
  • Offer ease of tuning various burner parameters and ease of commissioning.
  • Forbes Marshall burners offer a provision to log the history of failures and alarms to trace necessary corrections in operating practices.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the turndown ratio of a burner?

The turndown ratio of the burner refers to the ratio of the maximum output of the burner (and hence the boiler) to the minimum out of the burner.

    What is a ECR burner?

The term ECR refers to Electronic Compound Regulation. A burner can burn the fuel much more efficiently on account of the ECR technology.
