Pioneering Sustainable Solutions: Forbes Marshall’s Energy Efficiency Insights at Bangladesh Climate Action Forum
Forbes Marshall recently took centre stage at the Bangladesh Climate Action Forum, organised by the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange (BAE) in Dhaka.
The event featured two key sessions led by Mylsamy Ramsamy, Head of the Energy Services Division, on optimising energy in the textile sector. In the main forum, Mylsamy covered “Thermal Energy System Optimisation in Textiles”, while the Engineering Workshop focused on “Steam System Design and Optimisation in Textiles.”
Our presentation emphasised the critical role of Energy Efficiency in the Thermal system—the key to achieving 30% of the emission reduction target. We showcased how optimising thermal systems, including right-sizing & operation of boilers and Thermic fluid heaters, can deliver savings of 5 Cr BDT per plant year on year, with over 500 plants poised to benefit which will impact the Bangladesh economy to a great extent. Furthermore, discussions focused on energy security, renewables like rooftop solar, and eliminating gas-fired generators to ensure sustainable production.
