Forbes Marshall - Trusted Partners in Steam Engineering & Control Instrumentation

SWAS Wet Panel

For any boiler or Thermal Power Plant, health and performance of a large number of capital equipment depends on the quality of steam and water that goes into them. Thus, having a Steam and Water Analysis System in place is very important for enhancing the life of critical equipment like Pressure parts, Heat exchangers & Turbines.

In Large Thermal Power Stations (LTPS) & Independent Power Plants (IPP) online steam and water analysis system (SWAS) is located in Turbine Building. Enclosed SWAS wet panels are specially designed so that they can be mounted outside the air-conditioned area inside the Steam Turbine Building. They come with a special locking arrangement to avoid accidental opening of high pressure isolation valves, and ensure safe operations.

Forbes Marshall’s enclosed wet panels are equipped with ASME certified components like sample isolation valves, sample coolers, pressure reducers and thermal shut off valves. They are designed, engineered and hydro-tested as per ASME guidelines before shipment. They ensure reliable representative sampling, controlled access for sample collection, and safety of downstream analyzers and operator safety.

  • Designed as per ASME PTC 19.11-2008 standards guidelines
  • Walkway design for easy maintenance access
  • Stainless steel sink and countertop (optional) for longer service life
  • Fully mechanical and factory tested
  • Can be mounted outside SWAS Room in non-air conditioned area
  • Completely enclosed design;  all mechanical components mounted inside the panel
  • Operators can only access grab sampling and analyser flow meters
